News & Politics: "But instead of doing home-improvement projects that day, as the organizers suggest, consider inviting friends over to brainstorm some focused, economic-based actions that could more effectively drive the message of gay people's second-class citizenship home."
I had an idea for something like this over a year and a half ago, and I sent around an email to some of my friends (and John Aravosis) about it. My friend Scott Manning replied to me with a similar complaint: how effective would it be if its so broad? I believe this is a good idea, and we should take part of it IF we can... if only just to get some news coverage, and get the government to recognize the power of the "pink buck." However, if we REALLY want to make a statement, we need to get up and get out one month after "Drop out" and "VOTE OUT" bush and any other discrimination-supportive leader. We must assure that this year is the year that the stereotype of gay apathy disappears. We must show up in DROVES!
