I am so entirely tired of this move America has made since the begining of 2000 toward this "return to decency" which has been anything but decent. The rise in blind faith, awful hateful politics, and irrational xenophobic patriotism has been a blight, not a blessing on our country. Rather than be the envy of the world, we have MADE OURSELVES the black sheep. America is becoming something ungly and terrible fast. I want a return to the good old days of the nineties, where we didn't trust our politicians, so they HAD to be honest, where we were more interested in individuality and personal freedoms than being "saved," when we had JOBS, and an ECONOMY, and we weren't downsizing, and outsourcing! When companies weren't going bankrupt by the minute, when a man could criticize his government in peace and NOT have his library records seized. When we didn't have such a BITTER partisan split--democrats and republicans didn't HATE eachother so UNREASONABLY.
I'm getting sick of all of this. I think I'd like to move to Canada where 'free country' ISN'T an oxymoron.
