How disgusting that people should get so worked up over the call to prayer. Every single "Christian" church is allowed to knell their big ole bells as loud as they want, but when it comes to another religion wanting to do the same thing, they should 'assimilate.' Disgusting. Why is it whenever I read the news these days, I'm disgusted with Americans, Christians, and the people I'm supposed to be united with? Why can't we be tolerant? Why can't we love everyone's differences, celebrate them. Upset that Hamtramck isn't as Polish as it used to be, THEN WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU MOVING OUT??? Who the fuck cares if someone else wants to extoll their religious beliefs. I sure don't I'm strong enough in mine to not let it bother me when a half-dozen fundies converge on the steps of my PUBLIC UNIVERSITY's library, and tell me I'm going to hell, and the only answer is Jesus Christ. If they stop this shit in Hamtramck, I swear to God I'm taking the "Standing in the Gap" people to court, because they infect this University, and interrupt my walks to buildings, my rides home, even all of my classes. THIS IS NOT A CHRISTIAN COUNTRY!!! THIS IS A COUNTRY FOR EVERYONE!!!HAMTRAMCK IN THE GLARE: Call to prayer spurs angry noise

News & Politics: "At least six gay, lesbian and bisexual U.S. military members are facing discharges this year because of their online profiles, or personal ads, in what appears to be an emerging trend for enforcing the military's policy against gay soldiers."
So much for "Don't Ask!"
Gay News From 365Gay.com: "' There are a lot of angry veterans back home who would like to know why the Bush Administration has quietly slashed veteran benefits. Perhaps these Republican Senators can use this weekend to answer their concerns.'"
I am SOOOO disgusted with Republicans. Once again, they are on the wrong side of a very important issue for Americans, and are putting all of the disgusting money and power behind them to make sure that it is their way, rather than the way of freedom--AS ALWAYS! What a country that allows itself to be pulled around like puppets, and pushed around by these evil men. I'm ashamed that this memorial day I live in a country whose leadership chooses to hate rather than show respect for the people this day is REALLY for.

I am so entirely tired of this move America has made since the begining of 2000 toward this "return to decency" which has been anything but decent. The rise in blind faith, awful hateful politics, and irrational xenophobic patriotism has been a blight, not a blessing on our country. Rather than be the envy of the world, we have MADE OURSELVES the black sheep. America is becoming something ungly and terrible fast. I want a return to the good old days of the nineties, where we didn't trust our politicians, so they HAD to be honest, where we were more interested in individuality and personal freedoms than being "saved," when we had JOBS, and an ECONOMY, and we weren't downsizing, and outsourcing! When companies weren't going bankrupt by the minute, when a man could criticize his government in peace and NOT have his library records seized. When we didn't have such a BITTER partisan split--democrats and republicans didn't HATE eachother so UNREASONABLY.
I'm getting sick of all of this. I think I'd like to move to Canada where 'free country' ISN'T an oxymoron.
DIS-GUST-ING!!!
I AM SOO SICK OF PEOPLE DEFENDING THIS WAR!!! THIS IS AN EVIL UNJUST WAR!!! EVERYTHING ABOUT IT IS LIES AND AWFULNESS!The New York Times > International > Middle East > U.S. Disputed Protected Status of Iraq Inmates

Catholic Online - U.S. National News -: "Cardinal Theodore E. McCarrick of Washington, who is heading a committee studying how bishops should relate to Catholic politicians, said Thursday in his archdiocesan newspaper that he did not favor using the eucharist as a 'sanction.'
Cardinal McCarrick wrote, 'I do not favor a confrontation at the altar rail with the sacred body of the Lord Jesus in my hand.' "
This is getting absolutely rediculous. This priest he is talking about wants to deny VOTERS who VOTE for people like Kerry the eucharist. I'm starting to be embarassed about being in this faith.
