This is my newest little annex of the web where you can now find more immediate and constant information that my webpage just couldn't keep up with. See the News stories and webpages that catch my eye. You can still read my Livejournal to find out what's going on in my life (at least for now).

Newsday.com - Opinion: "Scandinavia's system of same-sex registered partnerships is by no means the only cause of marital decline. Causes such as contraception, abortion, women in the workforce, individualism, secularism and the welfare state also play a role."
You know, I've always thought that women in the workplace, individualism and secularism was ALWAYS a huge problem in this country. Really, if we get down to it, fascism really WAS the way to go! Thanks Bush!

The purpose of the first amendment is the prevent the majority from imposing its will on the minority. This is a democratic, not fascist country. Maybe I mention fascism too much on this blog, but it seems to me it's only apropo, this is where we're heading: Montana must defend marriage from attack by activist judges - billingsgazette.com: "I'm sponsoring the Montana Marriage Amendment because, as a legislator, I am appalled that a few activist judges in other states are usurping the will of the people, and legislating from the bench. "

Tallahassee Democrat | 04/16/2004 | Don't compare gay rights to civil rights: "When looking at the context of the movement, it is important to note that the basic thrust of the movement was to secure the rights that had been denied to blacks since our forced arrival in the colonies in the early 17th century. For nearly 400 years, blacks were dehumanized in policy and practice and unable to enjoy the basic rights that were afforded to other Americans - the right to vote, the right to receive a quality education, equal rights in employment and housing, just to name a few."
What does the length of time the descrimination has happened matter--marriage is a human right too, and people deserve to be loved, and to love, and not have that love dismissed as synthetic or abnormal. Gay people want to be viewed equally. That is all. MLK III agrees with us. So does Coretta Scott King. It's about human rights and HUMAN DIGNITY.

Guardian Unlimited | Arts Friday Review | The gay rapper: "QBoy gained the confidence to perform after leaving school and making friends at a local theatre group. Following a degree in contemporary dance at De Montfort University, he went on to edit gayhiphop.com and helped to organise the UK's only gay hip-hop night, Pacman. Not long after, QBoy picked up the mic and founded QFam (Queer Family) with fierce femmes fatales Fontaine and Dark Angel. While he mostly works on his solo material nowadays, it was with QFam that he first began touring."
